Congress-led UDF is more ahead of the ruling CPI (M)-led LDF as per the Kerala election results. The counting in Kerala Municipal Corporation, panchayat election 2010 has been started on Wednesday. The UDF managed to grab Kochi and Trichur from LDF and it is expected that the ruling party has been heading for huge loss, reports said.

Kalpetta Municipality in Wayanad district, dealing a stern blow to the LDF, which has been ruling the town body for the last some years.
The UDF was also foremost in a majority of municipalities in the Muslim League subjugated Malappuram district. But, in Palakkad district, LDF is prior to its opponent, reports said.
A total voting percentage of 75.16 were recorded in the 2 stage polls held on October 23 and 25, which were marked by wander off incidents of violence. The elections covered 5 city corporations; 59 municipalities; 14 district panchayats; 152 block panchayats; and 978 village panchayats.
