English Translation of The national anthem

Thou are the ruler of the minds of all people, dispenser of India's destiny.
The name rouses the hearts of Punjab, Sind, Gujurat and Maratha. Of the Dravid and Orissa and Bengal.
It Echoes in the hills of Vindhyas and Himalayas, mingles in the music of Yamuna and Ganga and is chanted by the waves of the Indian Sea.
They pray for your blessing and sing thy praise. The salvation of all people is thy hand, thou dispenser of India's destiny. Victory, Victory, Victory to thee.

 THE NATIONAL ANTHEM OF INDIA

The Indian National anthem, composed originally in Bengali by Rabindranath Tagore, was adopted in its Hindi version by the Constituent Assembly as the National Anthem of India on 24 January 1950. It was first sung 27 December 1911 at the Calcutta session of the IndianNational Congress. The complete song consists of five stanzas. The lyrics were rendered into English by Tagore himself.

" Jana Gana Mana Adhinayaka Jaya He

Indian National Flag - History

THE NATIONAL FLAG OF INDIA is in tricolour of deep saffron (Kesari) at the top, white in the middle and dark green at the bottom in equal proportions. The flag is a horizontal tricolour in equal proportion of deep saffron on the top, white in the middle and dark green at the bottom. The ratio of the width to the length of the flag is two is to three. In the centre of the white band, there is a wheel in navy blue to indicate the Dharma Chakra, the wheel of law in the Sarnath Lion Capital. Its diameter approximates the width of the white band and it has 24 spokes. The saffron stands for courage, sacrifice and the spirit of renunciation; the white, for purity and truth; the green for faith and fertility. The design of the National Flag was adopted by India's constituent assembly on 22nd July, 1947. Its use and display are regulated by a code. The Indian flag symbolizes freedom. The late Prime Minister Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru called it a flag not only of freedom for us, but a symbol of freedom for all people.

we will conquer

INCAS volleyball team lost their semifinal game to KMCC today. Our team lost this due to absence of one of our star players who is under medical rest.

A failure just before a tremendous goal to be achieved. Never mind.............

Dear INCAS Kannur members,

We have a big job to finish............Add as many members as you can and become strong, steady and beautiful. Always our roots will be strong and head will be straight enough to support our India only with many members.

"True realisation of India's power lies in igniting the fire of ambition of our aspiring millions. In order for this flame to spread, India needs to be connected within itself and to the rest of the world.

We need to connect India physically through roads, electricity, telecommunication, railways and other infrastructure. We need to connect India intellectually through literacy, education and training. Finally, we need to connect India economically through the creation of jobs and livelihoods.

It is we the youth who have the greatest stake in our future. It is from among the youth that tomorrow's leaders will rise. I firmly believe that the youth Congress and the NSUI can and should become the vehicles for young Indians who want to serve our nation.

Over the last few weeks, I have spent many hours with our workers and office bearers. I am proud to say that there are many among them with talent, character and a will to serve. But there is work to be done.

In my travels, I am often asked two questions: the first is from young people who ask how can we join politics and help India. The second question which comes from within the Youth Congress and NSUI is ‘how do we progress in the organization.’

These two questions touch at the heart of what needs to be changed.

If we are to truly become an organisation that represents the youth of our country; if we are to truly develop leaders of whom the nation can be proud, we need to do two things.

The first is to build an organisation that is open and relevant to the broad range of young Indians who believe in our values and seek to serve the nation.

The second is to build a meritocratic organisation. Young people bring tremendous passion and energy into our organisation. We must see to it that they are accountable. It is our duty to ensure that their progress is linked to their performance.

I stand here today to urge every young Indian to join us and help us build institutions worthy of your dreams, your values and your capabilities. Jai Hind."

A speech doesn't mean anything. Going by the record Rahul's father was all about making speeches.

Is IBN becoming Doordarshan of 1980s? If this man wants publicity, he should keep his big mouth shut and do something constructive.

To me the Congress has got a blurred vision. Its difficult for the youth to reconcile the fact that the Congress instead of imposing its agenda for the benefit of Aam Aadmi is playing second fiddle and in fact encouraging the Communists to wreak havoc on the National Economy, and tweaking the Country towards a Pro China Policy, which is totally against the ethos of the Majority.
